The Telangana government has announced that the KCR Nutrition Kit program will be expanded across the state.

During the inauguration of the new secretariat, Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao signed the file.

The government has already issued orders for the kits to be distributed in the remaining 24 districts. By providing essential nutrients, the program aims to reduce anaemia and increase haemoglobin percentage in pregnant women.

Upon orders from the chief minister, speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, finance and health minister Harish Rao distributed KCR Nutrition Kits from Kamareddy Collectorate in 9 districts across the state on December 21, 2022. Nine anemic districts have already implemented the program successfully.

6.84 lakh pregnant women in 33 districts will receive 13.08 lakh kits through 1046 centers.

It is estimated that the total cost of the project will be 277 crores, with each kit worth two thousand rupees.

1kg nutrition mix powder, 1kg dates, 3 bottles of iron syrup, 500gm ghee cup, 200gm Palli patti, and a plastic basket are included in the kit.

Harish Rao expressed gratitude to the chief minister for founding the program and concentrating on maternal and child care. He stated, “KCR kit for newborn baby, Nutrition kit for mother. Nutrition kits will be a boon for pregnant women.”
