Bhopal: Regular classes are not being conducted in schools over Madhya Pradesh because of the COVID-19 infection however in view of the upcoming Board examinations for students of classes 10th and 12th, it has been decided to continue classes in the state from December 18.
Minister of State for School Education (independent charge), Indersingh Parmar, has stated all schools for students showing up for classes 10th and 12th would function regularly for the whole scheduled time from December 18 onwards. This decision has been made keeping in mind the approaching Board exams. Based on the enrolment of students for classes 9th and 11th and the teaching rooms accessible, the principals of schools may make a decision to hold regular classes at the local level.
Parmar has informed that certificates would be provided to the schools which perform well according to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s orders. On the basis of the schools’ performances, the important arrangement for certifying schools on the basis of gold, silver, and bronze class.
Prior, to a review meeting of the school education department conducted on December 4, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan declared that schools for class 1 to class 8 will be resumed from April 1, 2021.
Under ‘Our Home, Our School’, certificates would be given to teachers who teach well each week. ‘Mega Parent Teachers Meet’ at the state level would be coordinated for direct interaction with parents alongside alumni of the schools. A draft would be ready for the transfer and rationalization policy of teachers dependent on their teaching performance.
The Education Minister has guided the distribution of workbooks or textbooks to children of migrant workers on the government’s education portal and based on a survey led at the district level alongside education and living arrangements for children of migrant workers in a joint effort with social organizations and the district administration.
In the interim, higher education minister Mohan Singh Yadav stated colleges over Madhya Pradesh will be resumed in a phased way from January 1. The regular practical classes in the colleges will be started on January 1. The colleges for final year undergraduate and postgraduate classes will begin from January 10 and the remaining classes from January 20.
