Numaish 2022 gets extended till April 14

Numaish has been extended by the Managing Director of Exhibition Society till April 14. It will take place between 4 pm and 11 pm.

The Exhibition is however closed on April 9 and 10 (ie Saturday and Sunday) due to orders by the Commissioner of Police, CV Anand.

A decision to extend Numaish was made after traders at the All India Industrial Exhibition on Wednesday demanded that the exhibition be extended until April 17.

It had previously been decided that the annual event would end on April 8.

The traders gathered outside the Exhibition society’s office in Nampally on Wednesday, demanding that the event be extended until April 17.

In response to the issue, the exhibition society’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Ravi Yadav, confirmed the same and said, “Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the exhibition was postponed for a while. However, the Telangana government decided to allow Numaish to take place from February 25.”

Numaish traders have suffered heavy losses over the past two years due to the confusion, he said.

Protest for extension

Media reports indicate that a group of traders gathered outside the Exhibition society’s office in Nampally on Wednesday to ask for an extension until April 17.

An increase in Covid-19 cases led to the trade fair’s premature closure on January 6, one day after it opened. After the organisers requested permission from the police and other authorities to conduct the fair for one month, the fair was reopened in the second week of February.

Over the last two years, Numaish traders have suffered heavy losses. As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, the All-India Industrial Exhibition implemented several measures.

Traders and businesses from all around the country were allotted 1,600 stalls so they could sell their goods at the fair.

Traders from all over the country set up stalls during the exhibition and at least 45,000 people attend on a daily basis. The exhibition attracted more than 20 lakh visitors in 2019.
