Parties end campaign, Graduate MLC polls on March 14

The political parties today ended their campaigning for the two graduate MLC polls as the elections to be held on March 14 from 8 am to 4 pm. According to the poll body, the polling arrangements with jumbo ballot boxes were kept ready with all facilities in place at the respective polling stations.

 

The TRS, BJP, the Congress, left and independent candidates are testing their fate in the polls as there are 93 candidates in the Hyderabad segment and 71 in Nalgonda segments vying for the polls.

The election commission has asked the political parties and leaders to follow norms of the poll code and Covid 19 guidelines to keep away from virus spread. The results will be announced on March 17 after three days of the polling on 14 as per the poll schedule.
The TRS took the polls as prestigious and equally the BJP vouching for the victory in both segments.

While Hyderabad Ranga Reddy and Mahabub Nagar are in the first segment and the second one is Nalgonda Warangal and Khammam districts going for the polls. The officials informed that the sale of liquor will not be allowed on polling days and counting days.

The TRS took it as a prestigious one and fielded educationist Vani Devi and a daughter of former Prime Minister late PV Narasimha Rao. While the BJP has fielded its incumbent Ramchandra Rao and the congress roped in Chinna Reddy. The BJP roped in Premender Reddy against the TRS incumbent Palla Rajeshwar Reddy for the Nalgonda segment.
The polling officials are getting ready with jumbo ballot boxes with total security and webcasting and CCTV surveillance for smooth and fair polls.

For the Nalgonda segment, all the rivals are vying for the polls which will see a serious campaign by the leaders.

All the parties made their efforts to woo the graduate voters by pressing the MPs, former MPs, MLAs, as the ministers too campaigned. While the ruling party offered sops to the graduates the opposition parties charged the former with falsehood and campaign.
According to reports, the TRS is upbeat as it could get the support of employees, graduates, and others including that of the Brahmin community who are expected to support its candidate Vani Devi.

The ruling TRS and BJP and also the Congress are hopeful of the victory through accusations and counter-accusations. Hyderabad and Nalgonda segments going for polls on March 14, the main fight is between the ruling TRS, BJP, and the congress. The left parties of the CPI and CPM roped in Jayasarathi Reddy as their candidate, who is a journalist.
The MLC polls will be held as per the schedule amid Covid norms in the two segments.
