PM Modi to Lay Foundation for 21 Amrit Bharat Railway Stations in Telangana

On August 6, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the groundwork for the construction of 21 Amrit Bharat Railway stations in Telangana, which would cost Rs 894 crore. These stations are part of the Amrit Bharat station project, which intends to continuously update and improve railway stations throughout time.

In Telangana, 39 Amrit Bharat stations have been identified, with the foundation stone for 21 of them being placed in Phase 1. Station entrance, circulation spaces, waiting halls, bathrooms, lifts/escalators, cleanliness, free Wi-Fi, kiosks for local products, passenger information systems, executive lounges, and other amenities are all part of the development plan. The design also aspires to link the stations with the city, provide facilities for people with disabilities, apply sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions, and eventually develop city centers at the stations.

Previously, the Prime Minister lay the foundation stone for the rebuilding of Secunderabad Railway Station, which will cost Rs 715 crore, and Cherlapally Railway Station, which will cost Rs 221 crore.

The Amrit Bharat Station initiative is part of the Ministry of Railways’ attempts to improve passenger comfort, cleanliness, and other facilities at railway stations, with a focus on long-term planning and upgrading.
