Private hospitals should follow norms to check Coronavirus : Health minister

Health Minister Etela Rajender today exhorted the private and corporate hospitals to follow government instructions to check Coronavirus spread in the State.

At the Koti Health Director Office of command control center here, the health minister discussed with private hospitals on following government instructions by giving more beds, collecting fewer fees, or as decided. The minister instructed them to strictly follow norms to bring down cases and fatalities.

Rajender stated that together with the private hospitals the government can take preventive measures.  He asked them to offer up to 50 percent of beds and hassle-free services as being offered in the Government hospitals.

The Minister held the meeting as there are reports that the private hospitals are looting the people in the name of vaccination drive. Rajender directed the private and corporate hospitals should not collect more charges or face action. There are more number Coronavirus cases in Maharashtra and some other districts and we have to provide necessary arrangements to check and test he said.

He reiterated that the people should not complain of hefty fees and negligence in these hospitals.

We hope to see that the patients get timely and proper treatment in these hospitals without collecting more charges. We have instructed the health and other officials at the borders of Maharashtra, Karnataka, and others to remain extra alert as there is a continuous flow of people. As per instructions of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, we have taken all measures to increase the beds,  jabs, equipment, and others.

The Minister asked the private and corporate hospitals to see that the patients get timely and proper treatment without collecting more charges. In the wake of Coronavirus cases rising in the state, Rajender asked the people to be extra cautious and follow protocols.  Vaccine will be given to those 45 years and above as per norms and to 60 years above to check Coronavirus spread he said.  The state government has made all required arrangements to fight the virus spread and people have to cooperate.

He informed that the state government urged the Centre to give more vaccines.
We have improved facilities and infrastructure to ensure providing the best health services and checking the virus spread. Jabs of vaccine will be offered to those 45 years and above as per norms and to 60 years above, he added.
