Hyderabad: Agriculture Minister, Niranjan Reddy today said that total cotton produce will be procured for Rs 5825 per quintal.
Niranjan Reddy said that during his meeting, CCI chairman Pradip Kumar has agreed to offer this price to procure 100 percent cotton from farmers.
The minister appealed to the officials to reduce 12 percent moisture of cotton and purchase the total crop. Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao is ready to support for cotton research Center in Adilabad district. The government will take steps to help farmers get a minimum support price.
The center has procured 101.5 lakh bales of cotton including 41.8 lakh bales which is 40 percent.
Niranjan Reddy appealed to shift existing bales from godowns and to stock the new product. Of 49.56 lakh bales, only 9.28 lakh bales shifted from. CCI godowns during 2019-20.
