Samajwadi Party worker escaped COVID ward, Commits suicide

A Samajwadi Party (SP) worker, who got away from the Covid-19 ward of a hospital in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, purportedly jumped to his death from an overbridge.

Station House Officer, Bhojipura police headquarters, Manoj Tyagi said Raman Jauhari,40, a district-level Samajwadi Party worker, had gotten away from the COVID hospital on Saturday night and his body was found under the overbridge on Sunday.

On August 25 Jauhari was admitted to a private hospital after he tested positive for Covid-19.The hospital had informed police on Saturday that the patient fled by breaking the glass of a window.

A case has been enlisted in such regard and an investigation is in progress, the SHO said.
Since the past few days, there have been such cases of Covid-19 patients taking their lives due to the fear of the virus.

A Covid-19 patient died by suicide at a corporate hospital in Hyderabad Tuesday morning. His body was discovered hanging from the bathroom ventilator in his room in the early hours of the day, was reported by the Chaderghat police.

Another case of a 42-year-old  coronavirus patient supposedly died by suicide at Teerthanker Mahaveer Medical College and Research Center in Moradabad on Thursday, an authority informed.

While in Gujarat aa 64-year-old Covid-19 patient committed suicide while being under home isolation in Varaccha area.

The Indian government is taking great measures to help the public fight this pandemic, but due to the social and various other problems, people are unable to cope up with the news of being Covid-19 positive.
