Saudi Foreign Minister Urges De-escalation Amid Middle East Tensions

Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan emphasized the critical need to avoid further conflict in the Middle East amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel. During a press conference in Islamabad alongside his Pakistani counterpart, Prince Faisal urged all involved parties to prioritize de-escalation.

The heightened tensions follow Iran’s recent launch of drones and missiles, targeting Israel in retaliation for an attack on Iran’s consulate in Damascus. The Israeli military, with support from the United States and other allies, reported intercepting the majority of the threats, resulting in minimal damage.

In response to Iran’s actions, Israel has vowed to retaliate. Saudi Arabia has called for maximum restraint from all parties to prevent the region from sliding into further turmoil.
