Hyderabad: The Supreme Court has directed to extend the deadline for medical PG admissions in Telangana till August 31. A petition has been filed by Telangana medical colleges against the Telangana government and Kaloji varsity notification which was heard by the Apex Court on Thursday.
The medical colleges have asked the bench that the notification issued by the varsity had given a short deadline for PG admissions and that the deadline which was currently given in the backdrop of the COVID 19 pandemic was not adequate.
On this stage, the Court has pointed out that students need to be prepared to go for admissions and that there is not enough time for that. After considering all the factors, the three-judge bench extended the deadline for medical PG admissions to August 31.
