Six ancient wells at Qutub Shahi Tombs restored to former glory

At Golconda’s Qutub Shahi Tombs compound, the Aga Khan Trust for Culture restored 6 historical wells to their former glory.

Arvind Kumar, the Special Chief Secretary of Urban Administration said that the Aga Khan Trust restored six historical wells at Heritage Park at the compound of Golconda’s Qutub Shahi Tombs to their former glory. Almost all of the wells had become water puddles due to their dilapidated condition.

These wells were also provided with 19.3 million liters of water by the Aga Khan trust, according to the chief secretary of urban administration.

A number of historical wells have been restored, including Badi Bauli, Hamam Bauli, Baug Ki Bauli, Mashriqi Bauli, Maghribi Bauli, and Eidgah Bauli.

In an expression of gratitude, Arvind Kumar thanked Nitish Nanda, an official of the Aga Khan Trust for Culture, for undertaking the restoration of these heritage wells.

‘Ek Shaam Charminar Ke Naam’ event revived

The city’s popular ‘Ek Shaam Charminar Ke Naam’ event will be revived as part of the Swatantra Bharata Vajrotsavalu celebrations beginning on August 14.

The Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department announced the event’s restoration on its official Twitter handle. They also stated that the event will include food and shopping stalls, as well as a fireworks display at the monument.

Meanwhile, to the delight of many citizens, Hyderabad’s famous Sunday Funday festivities returned to Tank Bund on August 14, as announced by KT Rama Rao on Twitter. The celebrations were halted in December 2021 due to the spread of the Omicron variant of Coronavirus.

The Charminar program was launched in the old city in 2021 following the Sunday Funday event at Tank Bund and proved to be a success with people enjoying food and other cultural activities. It has not been held for several weeks due to a variety of factors, including Covid-19 restrictions.
