Supreme Court Directs Centre To Keep Noida to Delhi Roads Clear After Single Mother Files Petition

The Supreme Court on Friday ruled in the favour of a women who seeked to get the traffic on Noida to Delhi road regulated.

Petitioner Claims Harassment On Noida to Delhi Road

As per the latest reports, a female resident of Noida reached out to the court and petitioned to keep the Noida to Delhi road free.

The Supreme Court noted that the petitioner was facing undue harassment on the road. And the authorities must ensure that roads are kept clear. She also said that she is a single mother with health issues. And because there is a lot of traffic it becomes a nightmare for her to travel from the Noida to Delhi road.

Following the case, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta submitted that he was appearing at the supreme court on behalf of Delhi. He further requested the court to include both Uttar Pradesh and Haryana government parties as well.

However, replying to the request, Justice Kaul said that it is not a matter of concern for them as to how they choose to resolve the issue. They can choose to solve the issue either politically, judicially, or administratively.

He noted that the court has repeatedly told the authorities to keep the roads free from any blockage.

The Supreme Court bench also said that they are checking only the limited aspects of the matter. But there are other aspects involved in the matter. The next hearing is scheduled for April 19.

The bench headed by Justice Sanjay Kishal Kaul agreed and said that roads should not be blocked.

Supreme Court Issued Notice To Keep The Noida to Delhi Road Clear

As per the reports, this isn’t the first time when the supreme court has directed the Central government and the Delhi Police commissioner to keep the Noida to Delhi road clear.

Previously, the supreme court acted upon the plea made by Monica Agarwal who claimed that the ride that was supposed to take only 20 minutes was taking two hours because of the immense traffic.

During the hearing, the Supreme Court said that the public streets should be not blocked. And this aspect has been made clear multiple times in the orders issued in the past.

The court noted that the petitioner is a single mother. And blocked roads become harassing for her.
