Suspended Dr Kafeel Khan Requests UP CM Yogi Adityanath To Revoke Suspension Amidst Pandemic

Dr. Kafeel Khan who was suspended in 2017 recently wrote a letter to the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He requested him to revoke his suspension as he can help with treating Covid patients.

Dr Kafeel Khan Says To Maintain His Suspension Post Pandemic

As per the latest reports, Dr. Kafeel Khan wrote a letter to the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. In the letter, he mentioned that he has over a decade of experience in handling ICU patients. And he can help in the emergency situation that the country is facing right now because of the second wave of Coronavirus.

He further said that his experience and expertise can help save some lives. The government may suspend him again once the pandemic is over.

Khan is currently working with a group of Doctors that call themselves “Doctors On Road”. They spread awareness about Covid’s appropriate behavior. They also provide relief and treatment to Covid patients in villages and some inaccessible areas.

Dr Kafeel Khan Was Held Responsible For The Death of 60 Children

Back in 2017, Dr. Kafeel Khan worked as a pediatrician of the BRD Medical College. However, due to the less supply of oxygen, 60 children died within a week and most of them were infants. Following this, Khan was responsible for the situation and was put behind bars.

However, in September 2019, he was absolved of the charges. It was proved in the court that during the incident, he was on leave, and despite being on leave he managed to arrange 500 jumbo oxygen cylinders within his personal capacity.

Talking to the media, Khan said that he knew he was innocent. He did what he could as a father, doctor, and a common Indian.

The shortage in the oxygen supply was because of the unpaid bills to the vendor. Khan said that his time in jail was an administrative failure and he was merely a scapegoat. He demanded CBI probe into the matter and said that the government should apologize to the parents who lost their children.
