“Pesticides may be the reason behind the death of the country’s chickens and crows that used to feed themselves by pecking from the ground especially from the agricultural fields. However, only the officials of animal husbandry could reveal the actual reason behind these incidents,” informed a senior retired veterinary official, who was associated with Nehru Zoological Park for a long time.

On the other hand, the officials of the Animal Husbandry Department in the district are playing down the incident and the number of cattle deaths saying that there is no case of bird flu found anywhere in the district so far and only a few sporadic cases of country chicken’s death were reported which is not at all having any link to contagion like bird flu. We are ascertaining the reason behind these incidents but could not be able to reveal anything at the moment.
