Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau Arrests ALO and Son for Briber

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Telangana recently arrested an Assistant Labour Officer (ALO) and his son for allegedly receiving a bribe of Rs. 25,000. The Assistant Labour Officer, known as K Saibaba, was caught red-handed collecting a bribe from a complainant demanding compensation for the death of his mother, Thalari Ganganna, at his apartment.

The event occurred on December 18, 2023, according to the ACB’s official press release, when Saibaba sought and accepted the bribe through his son, K Damodar. The bribe was offered in exchange for accelerating the processing of Ganganna’s mother’s compensation file, which was lost on August 21, 2023, as a registered laborer.

Damodar was apprehended and the bribe amount was successfully collected. A second chemical test proved Damodar’s possession of the marked bribe money. Both Saibaba and Damodar have been arrested and are scheduled to appear before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases Court in Karimnagar.

The ACB press release did not disclose any other information regarding the continuing investigation, although more details are expected to be published as the case develops. The arrests demonstrate the government’s commitment to eliminating corruption and establishing accountability in Telangana’s public offices.
