Telangana CM Assures Extended Benefits for Government Employees Ahead of Elections

In front of the impending Telangana Assembly elections, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) has informed government employees that they will receive extended interim relief soon. He also announced the formation of a pay revision commission (PRC) prior to the implementation of new pay scales.

During a discussion on the progress made in the formation of Telangana state, KCR underlined that Telangana government employees were among the highest paid in the country, even surpassing those in the central government. He emphasized that the government has increased staff compensation by 70% during the previous nine years.

KCR underlined his commitment to sharing the benefits of the state’s improved economy with all segments of society. He pledged that under the new PRC, government employees would receive big raises, and he intended to keep that promise.

KCR announced to Singareni Collieries employees that their yearly bonus would be increased from Rs 83 crore to Rs 1,000 crore in October. He ascribed this expansion to the state-run coal company’s significant increase in turnover and earnings under his administration.

KCR thanked the state’s governor, Tamilisai Soundararajan, for authorizing the appropriate bill and making it possible for it to be introduced during the session. He also addressed objections of the Road Transport Corporation’s (RTC) merger with the government. KCR indicated that he wanted to improve the corporation’s financial situation, but that rising diesel prices had hampered its performance.
