Telangana Congress Manifesto Promises Gold, Cash Grants, and Free Internet for Students

In preparation for the forthcoming Telangana Assembly elections on November 30, the state’s Congress party has released a hopeful manifesto that contains a slew of noteworthy proposals. Among these are the offer of ten grams of gold to suitable women upon marriage, a one lakh rupee cash grant, and free internet access for students.

The “Mahalakshmi” promise, a significant part of the Congress platform, provides brides with a one-of-a-kind gift. It guarantees that, in addition to a one-time financial gift of one lakh rupees, brides would receive 10 grams of gold worth Rs 50,000 to 55,000. These financial aid measures for married women are intended to supplement current government programs like as Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak, which give financial help to brides who satisfy certain eligibility conditions.

The Congress party also aims to meet students’ educational requirements by offering free internet connection. While the specifics of this program have yet to be determined, the party has stated its desire to work with internet service providers to build a comprehensive strategy to give students with free internet access. This initiative intends to improve students’ access to information and digital resources, which is becoming an increasingly crucial part of modern education.

The current ruling party in Telangana, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), replied to the Congress platform by emphasizing their own dedication to creative policies that have considerably benefited the state’s citizens. The BRS has undertaken progressive initiatives, such as lower-priced LPG cylinders and increased social pensions, which they think demonstrate its dedication to the welfare of the people.

As both parties issue their manifestos, it is clear that the Telangana Assembly elections will be hotly contested, with each party giving its vision and pledges for the state’s future.
