Telangana government Declares Christmas and Boxing Day Holidays

The Telangana government has declared Christmas and Boxing Day vacations, celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ and the second day of Christmastide, respectively. These holidays are applicable to schools in Hyderabad and other regions around Telangana.

Christmas and Boxing Day will be marked as ‘General Holidays’ on December 25 and 26, respectively, according to the Telangana State Portal Calendar for 2023. This statement provides a holiday break for the region’s government offices and schools.

Schools in Hyderabad and other regions will also be closed on these dates, with missionary schools offering a five-day break from December 22 to 26. The combined effect of Christmas and Boxing Day, as well as five Sundays in December, will result in school closures for at least seven days during the month.

Furthermore, banks in Hyderabad will be closed on December 25 in respect of the Christmas holiday. This closure affects not only government banks, but also private and non-government banks. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has formally announced the vacation under the ‘vacation under Negotiable Instruments Act’.

This complete collection of holiday announcements assures that Telangana citizens, particularly those in Hyderabad, may enjoy the festive season with plenty of time for celebrations and religious rituals.
