‘Telangana govt paved way for development of farmers’ welfare in India’

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao stated that the Telangana government’s innovative agricultural policies paved the way for unprecedented development of farmers’ welfare in the country in just eight years. He stated that, in addition to bringing about a qualitative change in the lives of farmers, Telangana was now playing a role in bringing about a paradigm shift in the agriculture sector at the national level.

On the occasion of National Farmers Day (Kisan Diwas) on Friday, Chandrashekhar Rao emphasized the need for a ‘Kisan Sarkar’ in the country based on the Telangana model, which was achieving desired results with farmers’ welfare as its goal. He claimed that the Telangana model was the best solution to the country’s farmer problems.

He stated that the Telangana government has demonstrated through its initiatives that the budget spent on the development of various professions, as well as the sectors of electricity, agriculture, and irrigation, was nothing more than social investment. He stated that the Telangana model is ideal for the entire country.

The Chief Minister stated that the Telangana government has been working to improve the living conditions of farmers who rely solely on agriculture for a living. He stated that a lot of brainstorming and hard work went into Telangana’s agricultural success story, transforming the state into the rice bowl and seed bowl of the country.

According to Chandrashekhar Rao, despite the financial obstacles created by the union government’s neglect of its constitutional responsibilities, Telangana has been progressing unabatedly and was giving the highest priority to farmers’ welfare. He reiterated that the Rythu Bandhu scheme will be continued despite the numerous challenges.

The progress made in agriculture, according to the Chief Minister, will be the driving force for all other sectors. He stated that by developing the agriculture sector, the allied sectors and, eventually, the rural economy will be strengthened.  “This will lead to the ‘spin of economy’ and ensure comprehensive and sustainable development of the country,” he added.

Furthermore, he explained that progress in primary sectors such as agriculture and allied sectors will increase people’s purchasing power, which will boost secondary and tertiary sectors.

“Thus, the growth rate in all sectors can be achieved which will contribute to an increase in per capital income and Gross State Domestic Product,” he said.
