Three Crowns Stolen from Sri Govinda Raja Swamy temple in Tirupati, EO Inspects

Tirupati: Following the theft of three crowns in the temple of Sri Govinda Raja Swamy (Sri GT) in Tirupati, TTD EO  Anil Kumar Singhal inspected the temple on Sunday evening.

Later speaking to media persons, the EO said, three crowns belonging to Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy, the sub-shrine located in Sri GT. All three weighing approximately 1351grams costing around Rs.50lakhs”, he said.

The EO said, as soon as the duty archakas identified the missing of these crowns our senior officers including JEO Sri P Bhaskar and CVSO Sri Gopinath Jetti rushed to the temple and enquired the staffs. On total there were 15 cameras in the temple and all are functioning properly. The vigilance staff of TTD has also given CC TV footage to police for further investigation. In next two or three days we may get the final report of investigation”, EO added. (NSS)
