TMC Member Claim “Deep-Rooted Conspiracy” In Mamata Banerjee’s Accident

The recent happening at Nandigram that left the Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee is said to be an “accident” as per the police findings.

Police Submits “Accident” Reports To Election Commission

As per the reports submitted to the Election Commission, the preliminary investigation suggests that the whole incident was an “accident and not an attack”. The police reportedly came to this conclusion after checking the video footage and talking to local witnesses including some of the Trinamool Congress members.

The report states that Banerjee has Z+ security (highest level) and her car was around the crowded bazaar area and the gate hit a small iron pillar. Following this, there were reports that suggested that she was attacked by 4-5 men who pushed her and slammed the car door. This reportedly got her injured.

However, some of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members called the whole episode a “drama”.

EC Ordered High-Level Investigation Into The Incident

The Nandigram incident came a few hours after the state DGP moved out on the orders of the EC. The Trinamool Congress then went on to describe the series of events as part of “well-thought-out-plan”.

Rajya Sabha MP Derek O’Brien has filed a complaint with the Election Commission and said that the whole incident a “deep-rooted conspiracy” to kill Mamata Banerjee. At the same time, the police in the Purba Medinipur district has registered a case after the TMC Leader Sheikh Sufian filed a complaint. The Election Commission has also ordered a high-level investigation into the matter.
