Tragic Death of 15-Month-Old Boy in Hyderabad After Dog Bite and Malaria Complications

On June 17, a dog bit a 15-month-old boy in Hanamkonda, Hyderabad, killing him horribly. The young child acquired malaria in addition to suffering severe injuries. He was kept in the Warangal MGM Hospital for four days before he passed away from his wounds.

The youngster, named as P David Raj from the village of Bhattupally, was being bitten by a street dog when he was playing outside his home. He was admitted right away to MGM Hospital, while his family reportedly murdered the dog.

David got a fever while getting treatment for his dog bite wounds. His malarial diagnosis was confirmed after testing revealed he did not have rabies. His condition deteriorated after a seizure, which created dangerous conditions.

Medical personnel placed David on a ventilator, but he died four days later owing to respiratory issues and malaria complications.

This event is similar to one that occurred in Khammam in February, when a 16-month-old boy was seriously injured by a street dog but received immediate medical attention and recovered.
