Transactions on Waqf, Endowments lands to be suspended from tomorrow

Hyderabad: The state government has decided to suspend all kinds of transactions on Waqf and Endowments lands of Telangana. The suspension of the transactions would come into force from tomorrow. The Chief Minister of the state KCR made this announcement while replying to the questions raised by the members of the  Assembly while taking part in a discussion on the proposed revenue bill.

Speaking on the occasion he said that they would also protect all the encroached Waqf and Endowment lands. He also revealed the details of the waqf and endowments lands. KCR said that the survey of the Waqf lands was done from the year 1962 to 2003 and added that a total of 62 gazette Notifications were issued so far about the lands.

He also said that the state has 77,538 acres of the Waqf land and added that of the total land 57,423 acres of the land had been encroached upon by the land grabbers. He also said that over 2000 cases were pending in various courts of the state related to another 6000 acres of land.

KCR said that there were so many encroachments in 87,235 acres of endowment lands. He said that of the total area of land 21,000 acres of the land was given on lease 23,000 acres of land was under the control of seers.
