TRS staged a walkout, demanding white papers on vacancies filled in Central government departments

Telangana Rashtra Samithi members walked out of Lok Sabha for the third day in a row on Thursday after Speaker Om Birla rejected an adjournment motion notice regarding India’s job situation. They sang anti-Central government slogans for failing to fulfil the BJP’s electoral promise of creating two crore jobs per year in the eight years since it took control at the Centre.

TRS Lok Sabha floor leader Nama Nageshwara Rao stated in his notice that there are over one million empty positions ‘under the jurisdiction of the Central government.’ “It contradicts Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s pledge of two crore jobs.” Suicides by educated unemployed people occur unabated. “This requires careful consideration,” the notification stated.

The TRS Lok Sabha floor leader told reporters that the country’s unemployment rate has risen considerably since 2014. He claimed that the Modi administration failed to give two crore employment per year to the country’s unemployed young and did not even fill over ten lakh vacancies in government ministries and connected organisations. He urged that the union government issue a white paper detailing the number of vacancies filled in various government agencies and connected organisations during the previous eight years.

TRS MP issues a notice of adjournment in the Lower House to address India’s job condition.

Nama Nageswar Rao, a Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MP, sought an adjournment motion notice in the Lok Sabha on Thursday regarding the employment situation in India.

According to the MP’s notification, there are over one million unfilled posts “within the jurisdiction of the Central Government.”

“It contradicts Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s pledge of 2 crore jobs.” Suicides by educated unemployed people occur unabated. “This requires careful consideration,” the notification stated.

Meanwhile, the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha have been adjourned for the previous two days during the ongoing procedures of the second half of the Budget Session, with the Opposition raising a racket over the petrol price hike.

The Rajya Sabha was adjourned on Wednesday as a result of the uproar caused by the Opposition parties over rising cooking gas and fuel prices in the country.

The second half of Parliament’s Budget session started on March 14 and will conclude on April 8.

The Budget session’s first half began on January 31 and ended on February 11.
