TSPSC gearing up to notify 729 Group-II vacancies this month

The Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC), which announced Group-IV notifications for a total of 9,168 vacancies on Thursday, is now preparing to announce 729 Group-II vacancies in various departments this month.

It was reported that of the total of vacancies, 98 are Naib Tahsildars, 14 Sub Registrars Grade-II, 59 Assistant Commercial Tax Officers, 11 Municipal Commissioners Grade-III, 97 Prohibition and Excise Sub Inspectors, 9 Assistant Labour Officers, 165 Assistant Section Officers (ASO) in General Administration, 25 ASOs in Finance department, 7 ASOs in Law department (Secretariat), 15 ASOs in Legislature Secretariat, 2 ASOs/Assistant Desk Officers in State Election Commission, 63 Assistant Registrars in Co-operative Societies, 38 Assistant Development Officers in Handlooms and Textiles department and 126 Mandal Panchayat Officers.

These positions include six new categories of posts that the State government added to the Group-II services by amending GO No.55. “The work is underway, and notification will be issued this month,” according to sources.

Except for a few positions, aspirants must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in India to be eligible for Group-II services recruitment. Candidates for the ASO positions in the Finance department must have a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, economics, or commerce from a recognized university.

Similarly, a bachelor’s degree in law from any recognized university in the country is required for the ASO position in the Law Department (Secretariat).

According to the GO MS 55, the scheme for the Group-II examination consists of four papers worth a total of 600 marks, with each paper worth 150 marks. Paper-I (General studies and general abilities), Paper-II (History, Polity, and Society), Paper-III (Economy and Development), and Paper-IV (Telangana Movement and State Formation) are all covered in the exam. The written examination will be given in English, Telugu, and Urdu.
