Uttar Pradesh To Become First State With 5 International Airports

In the latest update, Uttar Pradesh will soon become the only state across the country to have 5 international airports.

Uttar Pradesh To Open New Doors For Foreign Trade and Travel

As per the latest reports, the government is about to be ready with the preparation of an international airport in Kushinagar. Reports suggest that after Lucknow and Varanasi, the project in Kushinagar is almost complete as well.

At the same time, the Jewas Green Field International Airport in Noida and the international airport in Ayodhya will also be ready soon. With five international airports in operation in Uttar Pradesh, the flights will increase for the international destinations. This would further lead to a boost in foreign trade and travel.

At the same time, Uttar Pradesh is also the first state to provide maximum metro rail service among the cities of any state. Metro rail services are already in operation in some of the major cities in Uttar Pradesh like Noida, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida, and Lucknow.

For the upcoming months, metro rail is all set to run in other cities like Agra and Kanpur. The rapid rail is going to start from Delhi to Meerut and is on the cards for Gorakhpur as well.

Uttar Pradesh Receives Smart Cities Award 

The above update comes after Uttar Pradesh recently received the Best Smart City in India award by the Smart Cities Award Contest 2020. The award was announced on June 25 which marks six years of the three urban transformative missions of the Central government. It includes Smart Cities Mission (SCM), Atal Mission for Urban Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT), and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U). They all were launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2015.

In the same category, Madhya Pradesh received second place and Tamil Nadu received third place.

The event was presided by the minister of housing and urban affairs Hardeep S. Puri and attended by key urban stakeholders from Central and State Governments including principal Secretaries of states/UTs, municipal commissioners of cities, and MDs/CEOs of Smart Cities.
