Wakf Board get two blows a day, one in SC and another at Shameerpet

The Tuesday came as a double whammy for the Muslim community in general and Wakf Board in particular as the board received a blow in the morning while defending the wakf property case of Lanco Hills at Manikonda in Supreme Court while another comes with the clamping down of Qutub Shahi mosque recklessly at the death of the night.

Lambasting the Telangana Government for keeping mum over the demolition of mosques at the stretch in the city and beyond, Mushtaq Malik, the president of Tahreek Muslim Shabban, said, “The KCR Government has turned a blind eye toward clamping down of mosques in the state similar the way it looked away in the cases of wakf properties in the state.”

“Similar the case of ‘Ek Khana Mosque’ in Amberpet that was raised to ground by the GHMC in 2019, another 400 years old mosque at Yakutpura area in Shameerpet Mandal was demolished on Monday. The mosque, which is a wakf property at Shameerpet was sold out in a similar way the Amberpet mosque was dealt,” he rued.

Earlier, while lashing out at the government for eying on wakf lands in the state meant for the welfare of muslims, senior congress leader Osman Alhajri said the deeply flawed approach of Telangana State Wakf Board (TSWB) in defending the case of Dargah Hussain Shah Wali R.A. Wakf Land of Manikonda in Supreme Court has resulted into a numbing loss of extremely costly land.

“How the water-tight-case, that successfully passed the trials in the courts of Telangana, has received a blow in SC despite having all the records and conclusive proofs to prove the point? This is a clear case of nexus between the government and the Wakf Board officials,” blame Osman Alhajri.

While addressing the media after receiving the report of WB’s debacle in SC, he said, “The case in the SC was not pursued properly in the apex court. The veracity of the WB officials will remain under question when it comes to dealing with the Lanco Hills case in the SC which successfully cleared the trials in the local courts of Telangana.”

Blaming that the whole staff of the Wakf Board is responsible for the debacle in SC, he said, this is the clear case of conspiracy of the TRS Government against the Muslims and Wakf properties meant for the welfare of Muslims.
