The Mozamjahi Market was constructed during the nizams time. The government of Telangana has taken up the renovation of the Mozamjahi market and has spent around 15 crores in the renovation of it. The renovated Mozamjahi market was inaugurated by IT Minister KT Rama Rao along with Asaduddin Owaisi member of parliament, on 10 of August 2020.
But the rain from the past two days has exposed the so-called complete work of the TRS government. The latest photos and videos shared by the people show the water leakages from the walls and stairs cases.
The Mozamjahi market is the fruit market in Hyderabad, It was constructed in the year 1935 during the time of last Nizam Mir Osman Ali khan. It was named after the second son of the last Nizam Moazzam Jah. The construction of Moazzamjahi Market is of granite and has white domes, same similar to the high court of Telangana.
Jambagh flower market was also part of this market but later in the 1980s, it was shifted to the Kothapet fruit market. It is one of Hyderabad’s Most popular heritage landmarks.
On August 16 two days after its inauguration, the historic Mozzamjahi market which still has the fresh flowers stick for the inauguration ceremony, on Sunday saw the water leakages from its walls and stairs cases.
The government of Telangana has reopened the Mozzamjahi market for people all after 2 years of its renovation work. The municipal administration and urban development have declared its plans for the renovation of MJ Market in 2018 and the renovated MJ Market was inaugurated on August 14, 2020.
Due to the continuous rain, the structure of the MJ market has become weak to the extent that the inner walls are drenched with water, and the repair work was still going on.
The building is 85 years old and underwent severe damage, negligence of the authority, and encroachment, the repair work was completed during the pandemic Lockdown.
