On 26th of August, a ghastly incident took place in the city of Uttar Pradesh, where a seven-year-old boy reportedly attacks and slashed the throat of his four-year-old boy using a knife because of a quarrel that took place between him and his cousin over a game that they were playing outside their house in Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh.
The four-year-old boy was rushed to a private hospital where he’s fighting for his life.
Both the families live and earn their living by working as laborers in the Chopula locale of the Nawabganj area, where the incident was reported from.
Surendra Singh Pachauri, Nawabganj Station House Officer, spoke on the matter that the families of both the children have reached a middle ground that it was a fight between two children. But, before that, the victim’s mother filed a complaint against her sister-in-law, accusing that she had given instructions to her child for the attack, however, she inevitably took the complaint back.
“Both parents said the boy was too young to realize what he was doing and gave a written declaration that they did not want any action,” Surendra Singh Pachauri was quoted saying. As of now, no FIR has been filed on the matter.
Fathers of both the children were out for work when the incident took place. The children began fighting among themselves when they were playing outside their house. In the heat of the moment, the older boy went inside his house and returned with a knife to attacks his younger cousin.
The cousin sustained a deep gash on his neck and around his chin and fell out of consciousness. The boy then was taken to a community health center.
The SHO was quoted saying: “We are keeping a close watch on the child’s condition. If something happens to the boy, we will proceed as per law”.
