Bollywood Reacts To Floating Bodies in Ganga; Nearly 100 Bodies Found Till Now

Amidst the pandemic and the rising numbers of the death toll, river Ganga has been floating with dead bodies. While everyone is shocked with the incident, Bollywood celebrities took to social media and condemned the incident.

B-Town Celebrities Condemn Negligence With Covid 19 Treatments

Actor and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar took to Twitter and said that the news for the numbers of bodies being discovered in the rivers and getting washed up on the banks is heartbreaking. He said that even though the virus will end someday, there has to be an accountability towards the failures of the system.

At the same time, actress and filmmaker Pooja Bhatt said that they can fudge the data but they can’t hide the dead bodies.

“This will haunt us for generations to come,” she tweeted. Reacting to the news, Jaaved Jaaferi also expressed his shock. He said that that incident was tragic and horrific. Along with him, Urmila Matondkar, Divyenndu Sharma and Shekhar Suman also reacted to the incident.

Nearly 100 Bodies Found In River Ganga in Uttar Pradesh

As per reports, around 96 unidentified bodies have been found floating in the Ganga in the past couple of days. Many of them are decomposed and bloated. This has led to triggering fears amongst the local residents in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. It is said that the bodies are of the Covid 19 patients which are reportedly being dumped in the river.

Reports suggest that a total of 71 bodies were discovered in Bihar’s Buxar district and around 25 bodies were found in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghazipur district.

The police has said that both the districts are yet to confirm if the bodies are of the Covid 19 victims and samples have been sent for tests already. The Buxar police suspects that the bodies might have floated from the Ghazipur district in UP.
