Hyderabad: Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao today said that food kits being offered to the rain and flood victims in the city. Along with officials KTR has visited several areas on the third day and interacted with flood victims at Khairtabad, Begumpet, and nearby places.

He took stock of the food and help being offered in the shelters arranged for time being.  The minister has asked the people to be alert to the rain havoc and floods. Immediate sanitation, cleansing of rain but areas is need of the hour, the minister has said.

The minister has instructed the officials to provide people with food kits, medicines, and blankets in the temporary shelters. Rama Rao asked for repair and restoration of the bad and damaged roads and provide immediate help to the main victims.

With a team of officials, KTR has made a visit to several spots of rain hit areas in the city He interacted with the victims and those are facing rain, flooding difficulties, and lack of basic facilities.

The cleaning of debris, garbage and sanitation, and help is offered by the GHMC, NDRF, and other staff he said.

KTR instructed the officials to attend to the issues, and provide food, medicines, blankets, and shelter to those affected. The minister promised to provide all help to the rain hit people. The Minister said the officials to take up all necessary measures to restore the normal situation.

 He said that special steps be taken to prevent the possible spread of the diseases. KTR said that health officials should take steps to sensitize the public that they should drink only hot water for a couple of days.

The minister also said to take up spraying if bleaching powder at all places where water is stagnant and repair KTR also asked the officials to provide blankets to all the destitute and shelterless people. The damaged roads in the city should be restored immediately he asked.
