Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president and Nalgonda MP N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Saturday stated that former president of All India Congress Committee Rahul Gandhi is a visionary and man of the people.

He was speaking at state party headquarter, Gandhi Bhavan, on the occasion of the birthday of Rahul Gandhi. On the instructions of AICC, the state PCC has celebrated the birthday in a simple manner.

He said that as Rahul Gandhi was a visionary he has forewarned the central government about the present crisis nearly 15 months ago. But the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders made light of him. He said that Rahul Gandhi gives preference to well being of the people and not to the posts.

“Though Rahul has been offered Prime Minister and Union Minister posts, he has refused them and engaged himself in the service of the people. Even though he has born in a family which has occupied higher public offices, he did not show interest on them and dedicated himself to the service of the nation,” Uttam Kumar Reddy emphasized.

The TPCC chief reminded me that the grandfather, grandmother, and father of Rahul worked as Prime Ministers of the country and higher posts are not new to the young leader.

He said when Covid Pandemic has hit the country Rahul Gandhi has set the politics aside and given several advices to the Central government. But the Centre did not follow them and this has led to the spread of Covid in the country.

He said Rahul Gandhi has advised the Prime Minister about the importance of vaccination, which would prevent the spread of the pandemic, one year ago. But the Centre did not heed to the advice. Due to the delay in taking up the vaccination program, thousands of people have died. He made it clear that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should take responsibility for the Covid deaths in the country.

Uttam said that while Covid was spreading like wildfire in the country, the Centre did not have a plan to combat the disease. It did not follow the trace, test, and treatment methods to contain the pandemic at the early stages. Due to the Covid, the country has fallen prey to the economic crisis.

Reddy said that Rahul Gandhi has made several valuable suggestions to the Centre to ease the burden on the people who faced problems due to banning the high-value currency notes, implementation of GST, and spiraling prices of petrol and diesel. “If Modi has had received them not considering the politics the country might not be facing such a deep crisis,” he said.

“Rahul Gandhi has raised his voice against no control on spiraling prices of essential commodities, atrocities on women and Dalits. He had fought against the atrocities on the women and Daliths valiantly,” Uttam praised.

He said that due to rampant unemployment and economic slowdown, the country was in utter distress. For the hapless Indians, Rahul Gandhi was a ray of hope and he was happy to work under his leadership.
