Second Wave of Coronavirus Affects Infants in Delhi; Report

With the second wave of coronavirus sweeping across the country, doctors in the national capital Delhi revealed some shocking developments. They said that this new wave has now reached down to the youth and the newborns as well.

Younger Children Are Being Admitted To The Hospital Reports Doctor

As per the latest reports, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal called the second wave of Covid 19 as “dangerous”. But the doctors have called it “very dangerous”. Dr. Ritu Saxena, the Head of Emergency Department at the LNJP Hospital said that the current wave of coronavirus is affecting the children as well. Children who are just a few days old are getting admitted in the hospital because of Covid 19. The youngest one is a newborn baby who got infected with Covid 19 in the hospital itself.

She said that so far seven to eight children have been admitted to the hospital because of Covid 19. Additionally, approximately 30 percent of the youth from 15 to 30 years of age have also been affected by the Coronavirus. The common symptom within the youth that’s got infected is fever, said Dr Ritu Saxena.

One Person Infects All Family Members; Pattern Noted In Second Wave

Within the second wave of Coronavirus, it has been noted that if a person has been infected with the pandemic then the whole family tends to catch the same virus. In the past 24 hours in Delhi, a total of 17,282 new patients of Covid 19 have been confirmed. And over one lakh 1,08,534 samples have been tested.

Reports suggest that the positivity rate currently is 15.92. This comes after the Delhi government announced a weekend curfew across Delhi to curb the increasing cases. The curfew will start at 10 pm on Friday night and will continue till 6 am on Monday morning.

Furthermore, the Delhi Government has directed the government-run hospitals to prioritize only emergency surgeries. All the planned surgeries shall be postponed until further notice.
