State Agriculture Minister tells farmers to avoid middle man

Hyderabad: Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy today said that the government will encourage farmers to shift focus on Vegetables and fruits cultivation. At minister’s quarters in Hyderabad.

The minister launched a mobile rural market vehicle of Kattangur Farmer Producer Company Limited. He said that the vehicle was sponsored by Nabard.

Farmers’ producers and cooperative associations should coordinate to provide fresh vegetables and fruits in rythu bazaars,  markets. This will help avoid the problem of the middlemen benefiting from the same he said. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is for providing MSP to farmers produce he said.

They must shift focus on cultivating other crops than normal crops. Some farmers are doing wonders by producing vegetables and fruits he said. Niranjan Reddy said that setting aside regular cultivation methods and preferring vegetables and fruits will give expected results.

The government’s aim is to get minimum support price to farmers for their produce the minister said. The minister said that the people should get them directly by avoiding middlemen to benefit both farmers and people. and affordable price for vegetables and fruits for consumers.
