TSRTC to operate special night time buses to Srisailam

There is some good news for the passengers of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC). Devotees visiting Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam at Srisailam in Kurnool of Andhra Pradesh will be able to travel through the forest area at night without stopping anywhere.

RTC buses and private vehicles are currently stopped at Ghat roads in the forest area during the night, only allowing them to travel the next morning by Forest Department officials.

The TSRTC Rangareddy Region Manager, A Sridhar, had recently requested that the Forest Department allow RTC buses traveling from Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS) and Jubilee Bus Station (JBS) to travel at night without stopping at Munnanur and Domalapenta check-posts in the Nagarjuna Sagar – Srisailam tiger reserve.

As a result of considering the request and examining the possibilities, Telangana Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF), Rakesh Mohan Dobriyal issued an order allowing TSRTC buses to pass through the reserve forest area until November 20, for the benefit of devotees.

Special buses are run by the corporation between the hours of 3.45 am and 11.45 pm from Hyderabad to the Srisailam temple.

“Passengers going to pay a visit to Srisailam temple from Hyderabad should use this opportunity. Though vehicles are not permitted to travel through to the forest during the night, we secured special permission from the forest authorities in view of the demand. We thank the forest department officials for allowing buses at night,” Sridhar said.

TSRTC has also launched a new super luxury bus service from Kothagudem to Hyderabad in response to residents of Chandrugonda and Annapureddypalle mandals in the district.

On November 5, a group of educated youths from Chandrugonda and Annapureddypalle mandals submitted a memorandum to the minister requesting that the bus service from the district headquarters to BHEL, Hyderabad, be introduced via Ramavaram, Chandrugonda, Erragunta, VM Banjar, and Penuballi.

In response to their request, Ajay Kumar directed the officials to start a bus service along the route. According to RTC officials, a bus service from Kothagudem to Miyapur in Hyderabad began on Wednesday in response to the minister’s instructions.
