Two men in Hyderabad charged with stealing soap worth Rs 40 lakh

In February 2022, Nalgonda district police arrested a high-tech gang involved in stealing expensive cars in Delhi and selling them in Telangana by changing engine and chassis numbers in West Bengal. Twenty high-end vehicles totaling around Rs 6 crore were seized.

According to Rema Rajeshwari, SP Nalgonda, the case was discovered using an electronic device known as an OBD (On Board Diagnostic Device) via the Delhi Police’s ZIPNET Online System.

The police launched an investigation after receiving a complaint from a Miryalaguda resident claiming that he had purchased two cars with WB registration. He was instructed to pay the balance after the sellers obtained NOC for the vehicles. When they refused to issue NOCs, he went to the police.

Investigations revealed that the chassis and engine numbers had been tampered with, and the vehicles had been stolen in Delhi.
