The number of sexual assault complaints and incidents is reportedly on the rise. A minor girl was allegedly gang-raped by three youngsters in Meerpet in an unfortunate incident.
According to police sources, the teenage girl and the suspects live in the same neighborhood and were known to each other.
The victim told police they took her to an undisclosed location, where they raped her. An investigation has been launched by the Meerpet police. The victim was given a medical examination and was sent to the Bharosa Centre.
The police are reviewing CCTV footage from the scene and are trying to conduct investigations from various angles. Only one person was apprehended. It has yet to be confirmed by the police.

In another incident that came to light in June of this year, a rape case was filed against a 19-year-old Intermediate student who sexually assaulted his 15-year-old friend in Meerpet
The accused even blackmailed the victim by recording a video of their private moment on his phone. It was reported that the accused was later apprehended.
In December of last year, when the victim joined Government Junior College in Barkatpura, the accused approached her and proposed to her.
A girl from the Rangareddy district filed a complaint with Kacheguda police on a Thursday night, alleging that a classmate had raped her. The case was transferred from Kacheguda to Meerpet police, who filed a new complaint against the criminal. According to reports, she made contact with him in December 2021.
In February, while she was alone, the accused came to her house under the guise of doing some work. Later, under the guise of marrying her, he sexually assaulted her while secretly filming the incident. The accused has been charged in accordance with the POCSO Act.
