Biryani offered at a hotel in Karimnagar for Rs 1 caused a stir as people flocked to get their hands on the delicacy.
The Empire Hotel, located near Telangana Chowk, announced that they would provide free biryani to anyone who brought a Rs 1 note, but only one biryani per person.
The offer, however, quickly went viral after it was shared on various social media platforms. Despite the scorching heat, a large crowd gathered at the hotel during distribution to get their hands on a plate of biryani.
The foodies formed a line outside the hotel and collected their parcels one by one. The situation quickly spiraled out of control after the queue was disrupted, as more people joined the crowd, haphazardly parking their vehicles on the main road.
Even traffic on the nearby road came to a halt. People began shouting for free parcels and even attempted to force their way through the hotel door, prompting police to intervene and take control of the situation.

This shouldn’t come off as a surprise as people across the state absolutely adore biryani. Hyderabad, the country’s biryani capital, ordered a massive 10 lakh biryanis through Swiggy last Ramzan. This is a 20% increase over the same period the previous year. The finding was based on an examination of Swiggy orders placed between March 23 and April 18.
